Formed by the union of the two villages of Brezzo and Bedero, it is
"a splendid balcony on Lake Maggiore", with the green of the woods of the Valtravaglia Valley at its back and
the blue of the lake in front.
Its history was strictly bound to the Collegiate Church of San
Vittore (the Vicarage) for centuries the religious centre of
the Bedero Parish, extending from the valleys around Luino to the
Marchirolo Valley. Built in 1173, it preserves in the sacristy some
valuable mass-books of the XIII century.
Every year from July to September the Stagione musicale
della Canonica (the Musical Season of the Vicarage) takes place with perfomances of many artists of world-wide renown.
The Dutch Village, on the road to Roggiano, deserves also a visit to for its characteristic houses.
