Brunello
It is a small village. hidden by the green hills between Castronno
and Azzate, on the top of the Bodia Valley. Its origin is probably
bound to an ancient Humiliates convent, who left Santa Maria Annunciata's Church, built at the end of 1300, that preserves
many frescoes datable from 1400 to 1600 and a XVII century organ
made by Eugenio Biroldi.
In 1989, Pro Loco and Town Council sent for famous artists such
as Alioli, Dangelo, Gendini, Lucenz, Mari and Robustelli to paint
some cement plate to be placed on the walls of the houses. So, Brunello
became one of the painted
town of the Varese Province.
