Sited between Gallarate, Somma Lombardo and Arsago Seprio, in direction of the Ticino River, it was certainly inhabited since the ancient times. Unfortunately the archaeological finds recovered have been destroyed or losted.

Casorate is part of the Lombard Parco del Ticino and is surrounded by a moorland, rich of Scotch pines, brooms and false acacias. The people of Casorate was able to take advantage of this natural atmosphere and became horse breeder. At first, there were stud farms of race-horses then they passed to the hunters and finally to the saddle ones. Today there are many famous stud farms, with more than 400 saddle horses and more than one riding school. Some Casorate horses took part with honour in international competitions: such as the horses of Vittorio Orlandi, Olympic competitor, and those of the Italian Team, with Federico and Mauro Roman.
