Cunardo

Placed at the foot of the Monte Castelvecchio, astride Valcuvia,Val Marchirolo, Valganna and Valtravaglia valley, is surrounded by coppices and throughed by Margorabbia stream, that at Ponte Nativo forms the Cunardo ravine.

Up to the '70, it was well-known for the production of the ceramics, particularly for the 'blue of Cunardo', a color of which only the local masters knew the secret.

In 1944, was carried out a cross-country skiing track and today the 8 km of the 'Sole e Neve' houses some skiing courses.

To see :

-the baroque church of San Abbondio, with a fine 1833 organ made by Ferdinando Arioli and Giovanni Franzetti from Gemonio

- the Rigamonti mill, a water mill until in use

- Ceramica IBIS by Robustelli with its collection of ceramics

- at Fornaci place, the ruins of the old brick-kiln
