As all the area arond the lake of Varese, Daverio was also inhabited by pile-dwellers at the Pustenga marsh. In 1878 a Gallic-Roman necropolis with some copper coins datable between 68 a.C. and 337 a.C. have been found.
To see:
- the parich church of SS. Pietro e Paolo built in 1592
and enlarged in 1885
- the romanesque church of S. Maria, datable XI-XII century
- the Corte dell'Ospedale, at Castello place, with the Bossi family, lord of the Valbossa, and the Sessa family coat arms carved on the capitals
