Galliate Lombardo

Situated on the southern side of the Lake Varese, it is a small residential center, with a beautiful nucleus of ancient houses on the hill.

The church of Santi Gervaso e Protaso has been rebuilt in 1865, after that the French troops had destroyed it at the same time as the parish of Santo Stefanot. Other interesting building is Villa Bellardi, with one greenhouse garden and the Chiesetta di San Carlo: it was probably the shooting lodge of the Duke Francesco III d' Este, Lord of Varese.
