Situated among the Mondonico and the Val dei Corni Mount, it is the seat of the Town Hall of the Municipality of Valganna.
It has two historical hamlets: Campobella, the older one, in the inner area of the town, with ancient houses made with the red stone of Mondonico quarries, and Baraggia, where rises the house named Porta di Ferro with a portal dated 1765 in which is carved the coat arms of Giovanni Maria Sforza.
Along the road coming from Varese, shortly before Ganna, there is the Chapel of San Gemolo, built where the Saint was martyrized. The chapel preserves fine frescoes by Morazzone school.
Going beyond the Lake of Ganna and the built-up area, there is the San Gemolo Abbey.
