It stands on a bank at the left of the Olona River, near its greater bend. The eastern territory of the municipality, at the border with the Mialn and Como Province, is rich of coppices, false acacia, oaks and chestnuts with an undergrowth plenty of mush rooms in Autumn.
Until 1880 the vine-growing was wide-spread, especially in the area exposed to the sunlight. But the philossera destroyed all the vines and only today someone attempts to reinveste in vine-growing.

- the church of Santi Vitale and Valeria, along the edge of the valley and with the facade at the sunset
- the church of San Carlo, (1603-1627),
with a fine XVII century altar
- the torre Colombera, fortified house of the XIII century, today exhibition hall
- the Terzaghi House, seat of the Town Hall
