Gornate Olona

Its old rural look has been preserved, neverthless the new houses and some industries. There is many villas with fine garden, in the past used by the rich families of Milan as holiday resorts. Such as Villa Parrocchetti now seat of the Town Hall.
At Respiro place, we can see a beuatiful panorama on the Olona Valley and the surroundings.
Famous is the hamlet Torba,
once autonomous, in the southern part of the territory on the bottom of the valley.
To see :
- the romanesque church of Santa Maria, XI century
- the 1700 church of Madonnetta, outside the buitl-up area, in a wooded area
- the medieval church of San Vittore
- the San Pancrazio mills, dated 1772 and in works until the early 50s.
