Induno panorama

Many people lives in this area, important way of transit to Lake Lugano and the Alps. But it was the Celts who left the greatest influence. They were farmers and lived on fortified village on hilltops. The name itself of the city derives probably from the Celtic "Dunum", meaning 'a fortified place on a knoll'.

Just on a hill near the road coming from Valganna, stands the Castello di Frascarolo, built on a prevoius longard fortress and from 1453 owned by the Medici family.

In 1901, the Birreria Poretti, founded in 1877, has been restored in that liberty style that is still admired by anyone goes towards the Valganna valley.
