Oggiona con Santo Stefano
Formed by two distinct hamlets, it stands in an area well-known for the manufacture of balances.
Oggiona is placed on a hill towers the valley below and where in ancient times were pasture lands for horses. The S.
Maria Annunciata al castello's parish church has been built on the ancient chapel of the Visconti's castle. The St. Vittore's church dated 1564 and received St. Carlo Borromeo during his visits.
Santo Stefano became a municipalty in 1921, when its inhabitants outnumbered
those of Oggiona.
In 1646 it was founded the Confraternita della Cintura (Brotherhood of the Belt), to whom the Madonna
della Cintura statue conserved in a lateral chapel of the parish church is due, and in 1725 the Confraternita del SS. Sacramento was founded.
