Solbiate Arno
The earliest records of Solbiate Arno dating back to medieval times, when Besnate is referred to as the seat of a court with jurisdiction over the surrounding area, from Somma Lombardo to Castelseprio. For the past, it has experienced the vicissitudes of the Contado del Seprio.

After the destruction of Castelseprio, was part of the parish and the manor of Gallarate. Since the fourteenth century much of its territory became the property of the Marquis Mantegazza that kept it until the end of the nineteenth century.

On Catasto Teresiano the land is divided into two centers, Solbiate Arno and Solbiate Monte, and consists mainly of rural homes surrounded by gardens. Only at the end of the nineteenth century appear the first mechanical industries were followed by the textile industry: in 1924 there were 18 industries in Solbiate (15 mechanical and textile 3) with more than ten workers.

Up to 1869 depended administratively Albizzate and only in 1905 it became independent under the name Solbiate Arno and Monte. The new name is dated 1957.
