On the border with the province of Como and in a flat area on which stands the wooden plateau of Monte Rosso, so named from the color of the moraines clay soil, Venegono Superiore was probably inhabited in Roman times and the Comium-Novaria passed here.
In the years before Worls War II, the family of Giovanni Caproni settled in Venegono and in the plain thad divides Vengono Inferiore from Venegono Superiore built a small airport. Next, were established the Aermacchi workshop.
