At the end of the route that climbs to Campo dei Fiori from Varese, in 1956 Salvatore Furia established the Centre of Natural Sciences and dedicated it to the well-known astronomer Giovanni Virgilio Schiaparelli.
The Centre is a no-profit association, that aims to transmit the preciousness of the Nature, the necessity to defend it and to safeguard it from the ignorance and the speculation. The entire complex is opened to public all the Saturdays and Sundays.
Parts of the Centre are the Astronomic Observatory, the Prealpine Geophyscal and Seismological Center, the Zambeletti Botanical Centre, and the Tomaselli Botanical Garden.-
