It is a flat area of about 360 hectares consisting of meadows,
arable land and small woods located between the towns of Busto Arsizio
(126 hectares), Castellanza (53 hectares) and Legnano (178 hectares).
This is a densely populated area and the reserve is intended only
for pleasure activities. Its aim is to preserve and encourage agricultural
activities so as to prevent its use for anything other than recreational
purposes, and extend the wooden areas.
Owls, swallows, redstarts, bats and other species that elsewhere
cannot find spaces adapted to their habitat live now in the farming
areas of the Park. Some species, like the blackbird or the turtle-dove,
that have been adapted to the vicinity of the city, are also in
constant increase.
Main entrance is behind the Mostra del Tessile in Castellanza,
but there are others in Legnano and in Busto Arsizio municipality.
