The
Campo dei Fiori Regional Nature Reserve includes not only
the massif behind Varese but also the Martica-Chiusarella
massif. The Campo dei Fiori massif has also an underground
world consisting of numerous caves, some of which very deep
and not completely explored.

Ticino Valley Lombardy Nature Reserve is the management agency
that protects the lombard side of the Ticino River. The protected
area of the Ticino River is the largest river reserve in Europe.

Appiano
Gentile and Tradate Pinewood Regional Nature Reserve is a
large green belt between the provinces of Como and Varese.

This
Regional NatureReserve, designated an EU Special Protection
Area for Birds in 1987, consists of over 450 hectares in which
170 species of birds, 27 species of mammals, 8 species of
reptiles and 7 species of amphibians proliferate.
The rarest one is the Lataste's frog.

among the towns of Busto Arsizio, Castellanza and Legnano,
is a flat area consisting of meadows, arable land and small
woods.

This
park consists of the gardens and land of old villas in the
municipality of Malnate.

They're
part of the wetlands, portions of land periodically flooded
or close to water sources. They're all important in ecological
terms because of the rarity of the plants or animals that
live there.

Many
of the lush parks of the 18th century magnificent villas became
public gardens, open all the year.
